After being in the pet industry for some time we are saddened to hear the numbers of dogs needing homes is increasing. We feel providing training and behavior advice will help people understand how to communicate with their dogs thus reducing unwanted behavior and hopefully leading to dogs remaining in their homes where they belong.
- Pet Shops
We’ve observed many staff selling products in pet stores for dogs that are not only wrong for their specific situation, and often sales staff give the wrong information about how to correct a problem.
We would also like to educate the community on the problem with buying dogs from pet shops.
- Positive Re-enforcement training
We have been holding puppy classes for several years and are becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of positive re-enforcement schools around. Once our puppies have graduated there is nowhere for them to go.
- Park Protocols and living in Harmony
Often we observe conflict in the parks which can be avoided. If people had access to information on how important it is to socialise their dogs as puppies as well as learn how dogs communicate with each other many of these situations can be avoided. There is no reason we can’t all use the parks and other public places harmoniously.
- Natural Therapies
Our experience over recent years in the industry tells us that dog owners are now seeking a deeper understanding of the alternative health treatments available. Particularly for older dogs who need the extra attention and care as well as those dogs who are recovering from procedures and need a gentle approach to aid in their recovery.
Many dog owners want alternatives to the traditional health care paths especially when trying to keep an old dog happy and healthy in its golden years. For others they choose to provide a natural, healthy lifestyle for their new family member – perhaps similar to that they choose for themselves – in the hope of preventing illness and a lot of heart ache down the track - It is for all these reasons we feel our shop/centre is needed.
- A Complete ‘Wellness’ Centre for Canines
We will be providing the City of Moreland and Melbourne a complete health centre. Our focus will be on maintaining wellbeing and preventing disease as well as helping ill and post operative dogs to a speedy recovery. We also want to provide owners with all the correct information on behavior and nutrition with emphasis on responsible pet ownership.
At any one time we don’t expect to have more than four dogs on site i.e. one hydrotherapy, one grooming, one each with a health practitioner.The goal of this structure allows us to promote and maintain a calm, quiet environment vital for the maximum benefit to clients and for the therapists’ working space. Many dogs find other treatment environments stressful. It is our aim to assist these animals to ‘conquer their fears’ and tolerate – if not enjoy – the experience.
Groomers are often rushed and under pressure to maximise numbers in a day Our service emphasises gentle patient methods designed to keep stress at a minimum (FOR DOG AND GROOMER). Our training and extensive animal handling experience will stand us apart from less educated employees in pet stores.
